My research aims mainly at understanding better the role of fluids in the mechanics of the Earth’s crust, especially seismic and aseismic fault behaviors. I am interested in developing new approaches combined from geophysical observations and hydromechanical modelling for the study of earthquakes, landslides, injection-induced seismicity in crustal reservoirs, and the dynamics of aseismic slip on faults and its interactions with earthquakes.

TOPICS

• Role of fluids in fault and earthquake mechanics

• Injection-induced seismicity and aseismic slip

• Evolution of fault physical properties

• Hydromechanical couplings in fractured rocks

TOOLS

• Numerical modelling :

- Coupled thermo-hydro-mechanical simulation

- Dynamic rupture simulation

• Active monitoring in Geophysics :

- In-situ experiments of fault activation by fluid injection
